-3-
• Total volume of water to be used on the existing and
expanded mine properties and at the tipple equals 105
acre-feet per year (af/yr). This includes 2.2 of/yr of
water for dust suppression on the mine site, 0.3 of/yr for
dust suppression at the mine tipple, 0.6 of/yr for domestic
and commercial uses, 66.9 of/yr for storage in sedimenta-
tion ponds, and as much as 35 of/yr inflow to the mine
pits. The consumptive use of water on the mine site will
vary throughout the year, depending on the uses. The total
consumptive use of the mine is estimated to be 69.46 of/yr;
this is 66 percent of the water used on the property. Most
of the water consumed is in the filling of the dead storage
of the 14 sedimentation ponds.
•
CJ
Leonard Rice Consulting Waler Engineers, Inr,.
