Barrett
SUBJECT: Ground and Surface Water Impact: Independence Pass Mtce. Pit
The Independence Pass Maintenance Pit has been used inter-
mittently for several years. Anticipated future use is also
relatively low volume and intermittent extraction.
The pit is located in the alluvial fan of a minor drainage
of the Roaring Fork River. The operation has avoided the
• active channel of this drainage and is above the ground water
level. No significant impacts on ground or surface waters are
expected from continued extraction.
A.C. RUCKMAN
DISTRICT MATERIALS ENGINEER
RKB/clc
cc: file BY
R BERT K.
