Normal rate <br />oP application is 0.10 gal/sq.yd. or approximately 500 gal/A. <br />Emulsified asphalt -rapid Batting (R.S. 1,2) or medium setting <br />(NS. 2) or slow setting (S.S. 1). L~ulsified asphalt contains <br />approximately 50 percent water and should not be applied in <br />freezing xeather. Normal rate of application. is 0.04 gal/aq.yd. <br />or approximately 200 gal/A. <br />c. Mechanical method - special equipment is manufactured specifically <br />for .this purpose. However, if a "mulch crimper" is not available, <br />a farm type disc plow can be used by setting the discs straight <br />and apply adequate weight to crimp the straw "4" into the soil. <br />C. Jute Netting -heavy woven jute mesh designed Por mulching. Install in <br />accordance xith the manufacturers recommendations. <br />D. Excelsior Mat - wood covered-xith plastic netting. Installation will be <br />in accordance xith manufacturers recommendations. <br />E.. Erosion Control Fabric - plastic knitted yarn. interwoven with strips of <br />paper. Install in accordance with manufacturers recommendations. <br />F. Feedlot or Barnyard Manure ~ <br />1. The manure must be of a type that has 60$ or more, by weight, heavy <br />chunks 5 inches or more in diameter. Granular or powdery manure will <br />not meet specifications. <br />2. The minimum rate of application shall De 20 tons per acre. Variation <br />from this amount will require approval of the Area Conservationist. <br />3.
