Some <br />profiles have a very bouldery or stony surface. Coarse fragments <br />increase below 9 inches. Coarse fragments amount to 60 to 80 <br />percent larger than 2 mm and as much as 20 percent larger than <br />3 inches in some profiles. The soil has a hue of 2.SY or lOYR, <br />value of 5 through 7 dry, 4 or 5 moist, and a chroma of 2 or 3. <br />This pedon is finer than allowed for sandy families; therefore it <br />• is mapped as the Rivra variant. <br />4.7.4' Map Unit Descriptions <br />4.7.4.1 Map Unit: AW - Alluvial Land, 0 to 5 Percent Slopes <br />This map unit is on nearly level flood plains and stream channels. <br />The slope is 0 to 5 percent. The vegetation is mainly a grease- <br />wood-shrubland community. These soils are mainly Ustic Torrip- <br />samments. <br />Included in this map unit is about 10 percent Rivra gravelly <br />sandy loam variant and about 5 percent Havre loam adjacent to <br />stream banks. Included areas make up about 15 percent of the total <br />• acreage. <br />
