Waldron
Environmental Protection Specialist
Mined Land Reclamation Division
1313 Sherman Street, Suite 215
Denver, CO 80203-2273
Dear Mr. Waldron:
Re: Adequacy Review - Siloam Stone
Pinon Mine, MLR Permit NO. M-97-094
7985 VANCE DRIVE, SUITE 205A
ARVADA, COLORADO 80003
303-423-7297
F~ECEIVEC
NOV 12 1997
Division or Ntmerals 8 Ueoiogy
On behalf of our Client Siloam Stone I will respond to your
adequacy review letter of October 31, 1997 in the order presented.
Thank you for your comments and compliment.
SITE DESCRIPTION
The fences were installed by the State Land Board or their
lessee prior to Red Creek Ranch acquiring the property. The
Siloam Road is owned by Pueblo County and the powerline is
owned by San Isabel Electric. All the owners were notified
because they are adjoining property owners. We will repair or
replace the fence if it is affected by mining.
MINING PLAN
Concurrent with this 110-permit application we have a
112-permit application submitted to the Division that includes
the stone yard. Reference to the use of the stone yard was
done because I am assuming that permit will eventually be
approved. To affirm your review comment we are adding the
following sentence to the permit application. "Until the Bedrock
Mine #1 is permitted we will keep all material from this 110-permit mine on the
6.26 acres t being permitted." Thank you for pointing this out it
could have been costly if Siloam Stone had used the area
before the Bedrock Mine #1 is approved.
RECLAMATION PLAN
I have substituted Thickspike Wheatgrass to the proposed seed
mix. Thank you for your suggestion. I try to use native
species in the mix whenever possible and adding a sod forming
grass is desirable, so the mix now reads:
