EXHIBIT C
MINING PLAN
PROPOSED SCHOOLFIELD PIT
It is proposed to begin the excavation from this gravel
pit during the spring of 1993 and end approximately 20 years
later.
Topsoil would be placed into a long flat-topped berm to
the east of the mined area. This material, if left for more
than one growing season, would be seeded with the seeding
mixture specified in the reclamation plan in Exhibit D. Top-
soil in this area is not more than 6-12 inches deep, and all
would be stripped and placed into the berm before mining of
gravel would begin.
Overburden is of the amount to be inconsequential. The
deposit of the material to be mined is estimated at 45 feet and
that is the maximum proposed mining depth.
The major components of the mining operation will consist
of a 30 foot access road along the east line of the SWQ of the
NW 4, Section 2, and storage piles of gravel immediately to
the north of the active mining swath which will be oriented
east to west beginning about 300 feet from the north-east
corner of the permitted area.
At any time the size of the significantly disturbed areas
kt acr?~
would be approximately 300 feet by 600 feet with about half
being under active reclamation activities.
