balance. All facilities and/or structures containing fluids of any
type will be contained or lined. (Refer to Secti 4.3 for a more •
detailed discussion). Downgradicnt wells (OW-B OW-4L, OW-12, OW-
13, and OW-14) at both sites will monitor grou water quality and
quantity.
9.6.3.2.3 Loadout Facility
The Lacy Loadout facility is located withi an existing industrial
park owned and developed by the DSRG. The present facility is
designed to minimize impact to the hydro ogic balance by the use of
"clear-ovate i sions, a sediment po d, and gravelled operating
surfaces. The propos coal stockpile will be constructed to
contain any water which may cumulat at the base of the stockpile
as described in more detail in cti n 4.3.3.1.5. Therefore, the
use of this facility for the loadin of coal should not result in
any impacts to the hydrologic ba]an e the area. A downgradient
monitoring well will provide docum ntatio of any possible impacts
to groundwater quality.
C J
9.6.3.3 Ongoing Ground water Monitoring
Groundwater monitoring has con inued during th~ period in which
mining has been inactive, as s arized in the Hydrologic Reports
for 1987, 1988, and 1989. Dur ng this period (June, 1988), CMLRD
revised the monitoring system to more fully recognize the actual
field and mining conditions. The revised monitoring requirements
are summarized in Table 9.6- and the well locations provided in
Figure 9.6-9. The condition of the existing monitoring network is
summarized in Table 9.6-2.
NCIG - Coal Ridge #1 4-84 ABC/1145/910509
