the fall and winter months. Therefore, weekly, monthly, and quarterly sampling frequencies
aze necessary depending on the season. Weekly monitoring is required for certain stations
during the snowmelt-runoff months of March through June to provide data for rapidly
changing conditions. Monthly or quarterly monitoring is necessary during interim months to
characterize seasonal changes in flow and water quality. Data collection frequencies for all
monitoring locations are presented in Table 1.
Table 1
Data Collection FY~equency

gtatioa TD :. ,.......
..::.:..:::.:'::. If the
streams are not running on a consistent basis, monitoring frequency will then be
reduced to monthly.
LWM is visited by site personnel once a week to conduct sampling and inspections pursuant to
the current CDPS permit. This requirement includes sampling and/or inspecting Outfalls 001
and 002, the pipeline, and the surface impoundment. With the exception of more frequent
weekly sampling during the snowmelt period, additional visits to LWM aze not scheduled.
Three new monitoring locations have been identified in this plan as shown in Figures 2 and 3,
Logan Wash Surface Water Monitoring Locations. These include UN-1, RC-1, and RC-2. It
is anticipated that the unnamed tributary (iJN-1) will only contain flowing water during
snowmelt- or rainfall-runoff periods. This station will be checked for flow and sampled at the
frequency listed in Tale 1, but no samples will be collected if there is no flow. If station UN-1
is not flowing during a weekly or monthly sampling visit, Roan Creek sampling will be
postponed until the next month when UN-1 is flowing, or until the quarterly sampling round.
12
