MOFFAT COUNTY
By letter of Juae 23, 1986, the permittee has requested that an additional
discharge point be added. The new outfall, U009, is the discharge point from
the Middle Pyeatt sedimentation pond No. 3. Discharge is to the Middle Pyeatt
Gulch.
This pond is being constructed based on a model developed by the University of
Kentucky. Instead of being designed to contain the 10-year, 24-hour
precipitation event, the pond is designed to meet applicable effluent
limitations. Since the pond will discharge only in response to precipitation
events, it will be designed to meet settleable solids limitations. The pond
will have principal and emergency spillways. The principal spillway shall be
outfall 009. Authorization to discharge via the emergency spillway is implied
as it discharges from the same physical location. Monitoring should be
performed at the principal spillway.
Effluent limitations and monitoring requirements for outfall 009 will be the
same as those already in effect for the existing outfalls, as shown in Parts
I.A.1. and I.B. 1. of the permit. Pages la and ld of the permit are being
amended and page lh is being added as a result of this amendment.
Jon C. Kubic
August 12, 1986
