• o Terra Tack, a mixture of organic polymers and inorganic silicates,
has been applied on about 150 acres.
o Terra Tack and hydromulch (wood fibers) have been applied to
the 6 acre switchyard on the plant site.
o Coherex, an organic polymeric resin formulation, and magnesium
chloride have been applied to the valley access road from County
Road 215, up Davis Gulch Road and along Firebreak Road to the
ridgetop topsoil stockpile. The first 6 miles of access road from
County Road 215 received magnesium chloride treatment. The remain-
ing 3 miles was treated with Coherex and magnesium chloride.
o One acre test plots on flat terrain and on steep slopes were developed
on the North Valley Fill of the plant site for further tests of the
following dust suppressants: Terra Tack, Terra Tack plus Conwed
2000, Corexit, magnesium chloride, ammonium lignin
sulfate, Arco 2200, Coherex, and various NALCO
latex and polymer preparations.
o All dust suppressants either now in use or to be tested are in
general commercial use as dust suppressants and have been tested
and found to be non-toxic to aquatic life, wildlife, and humans
when used according to manufacturer's recommendations.
Dust suppressants not only reduce windblown dust but also help reduce
erosion of treated areas. Dust suppression has been apart of the Colony
program on the site since construction commenced, and the program described
• above constitutes a natural extension of that program.
PD 1000.102 616
