MINING PLAN -Exhibit "D"
The following methods of mining are described for each stage of the mining
procedure:
STAGE #1
1. First the strippings, as shown on Map (Page "C-1" )will be sold and used as
backfill for the old, existing pit. In the fall of 1985,. all previously mined out
areas will be reclaimed according to the reclamation plan guidelines.
2. Stage One consists of 10 acres which will be mined in increments of Z acres
per year, thus lasting for 5 years.
3. Operations will start in the old pit, in the Southwest 1/4 of stage one and proceed
to the Northeast 1/4, ending in the Southeast 1/4 of stage one, as shown bn Map
(Page "C-1").
4. Sand and gravel will be extracted in the following manner:
A) All topsoil will be stripped by scrapers to a depth of one--four (1 to 4) inches
and will be stockpiled in the Southeastern 1/4 (Pages "I,5"ae3 "~6", and
Soils Maly Page " I -3 " ). The topsoil stockpiled at the site will also
be salvaged and used for reclamation in the old, existing mined out pit as
required. There will be a salvage buffer of a scraper width in advance of
the pit so that topsoil will not be contaminated by overburden. This is
considered a major disturbance of the area. No toxic materials found at site.
B) Overburden will be scraped to a depth of eight--thirteen (8 to 13) inches by
scrapers and stockpiled in the Southeast 1/4 of stage one (Pages "I-S' and"I-6").
See soils, vegetation report. The overburden and topsoil stockpiles will be
well segregated so that there will be no contamination of the topsoil stockpile.
This is to be considered a major disturbance of the area.
"D-2..
