MINING PLAN -Exhibit "D" <br />The operation is a sand and gravel extraction operation, open pit, on 113 acres <br />in Kiowa County, Colorado. It will begin in an old, existing sand and gravel pit <br />operated previously by Kiowa County (permitted as an 83-111 -limited impact - <br />covering less than 10 acres of affected lancA and under A & S Construction Company, <br />Permit No. M-85-057. Three permits exist which will be included in this 112 applica- <br />tion The permits included are the current permitted area being worked (Permit No. <br />M-85-057 as stage #1) and two other areas, (Permit #M-058 as stage #2 and Permit <br />No. M-85-059 as stage #4). A & S Construction Company permitted the last two <br />pits with materials being used for state highway projects No. MP 45-0096-20, S. H. <br />96 D., Jct. S. H. 287-E. The three permits described above will be included in <br />this permit and will be transferred to Mr. Rother's name to be used by various <br />operators in the area for numerous construction projects in the vicinity. <br />The mine site is located in an existing pit, in a dry alluvial setting of moderate <br />to gentle sloping surface topography and will proceed as shown in the mining time- <br />table i Page "D-16") and Map (Page "C-1"). Mining will be accomplished ovar a <br />56 year period ir. 13 stages with two acres being mined per year and concurrent <br />reclamation of the site to an area of range use.
