RECLAMATION PLA• Exhibit "E" Part I -Rule 6 Requirements
The landowner (who will lease the pit to various operators), wants the whole
affected area reclaimed to range use. This end use was chosen since the area to be
mined is not prime farm land and will not produce crops (Pages"I-1" through "I-7" and
Pages ".J-1" through "J-4'~. The surrounding area consists of wheat farming to the
South, West and East of the affected land and to the North is grazing. Where the
land will not produce farm crops, the surrounding area is used for. range-grazing of
cattle and the mining of sand and gravel (Pages "~1" through "I-7" and Pages "J-1"
through "J-4").
In the Soil Conservation Report it stated that the range condition of the affected
area was poor, the vegetation density consisting of 15%, and that no prime farmland
will be affected (Pages "I-1 through "I-7" and Pages "J-1" through "J-4"). The
Soil Survey states that the 22-kim-Stoneham-Lorimer soils are not suited to dryland
farming due to high hazards of erosion and soil blowing therefore with the addition
of topsoil and overburden saved and a new stand of grass, reclamation will improve
the range condition. The reclamation plan will be implemented to meet each
requirement of Rule 6 of Mined Land Rules and Regulations.
Rule 6.1 -Grading
a. There are no toxic materials on the site and the operator will replace
overburden and waste materials in the mined area and the operator shall
insure adequate compaction for stability of the reclaimed slopes.
b. All grading will be to a (3:}) three to one slope or less to control erosion and
siltation of the affected lands and no highwalls will be left.
c. All backfilling and grading shall be completed in conjunction with the mining
process.
d. All refuse shall be handled in a manner that will control unsightliness and
"E~l"
