April 22, 1999 •
6.4 Data Management
• Page 22
All analytical data reports will be tabulated within one month of receipt from the laboratory.
Analytical laboratory data will be sent to required agencies and made available for inspection and
maintained in a central job file. All records will be maintained for the life of the mine. Types of
records to be maintained for this project include the following:
- Field log books
- Chain-of-custody records
- Any discrepancy/deficiency reports
- Laboratory analytical reports
- All supporting QC information
6.5 Internal Quality Control Checks
6.5.1 Quality Contro(Checks-Field Activities
The quality control samples used to measure accuracy and precision affected by field
activities aze described in Appendix C and are summarized below:
Field Blanks
Field blanks aze samples of de-ionized or distilled water which aze submitted to the
laboratory for analysis. Field blanks will be collected as a quality check on sample preparation
technique, external contamination, and the analytical method. One blank per sampling event will
be analyzed using the technique described in Appendix C. Field blanks will be labeled and handled
as regulaz samples.
Equipment Rinsate Blankr
Equipment rinsate blanks will be collected to ensure that sampling equipment is clean and
that potential for cross-contamination has been minimized by the equipment decontamination
procedures. Using the technique described in Appendix C, one equipment rinsate blank will be
collected for every suite of samples which were collected utilizing decontaminated equipment.
Duplicates
Duplicate samples will be collected and submitted for laboratory analysis to allow a
determination of natural sample variance, consistency of field and lab techniques, and analytical
precision. One duplicate sample will be collected for every suite of samples using the technique
described in Appendix C. The duplicates will be labeled and handled as regulaz samples.
Agapito Associates, [ne.
