(COLOWYO); CDPS NO. CO-00045161
THIRD QUARTER 2004 DISCHARGE MONITORING REPORTS (DMR)
Deaz Ms. Lenkey,
Colowyo is submitting the third quarter discharge monitoring reports to the Water Quality Control Division for calendar
year 2004. Please find the DMR reports attached for your review.
Measurable discharge for the third quarter occurred at outfalls 001 A and 007A. Outfall 001 A discharged continuously
throughout the third quarter.
Field measurements of outflow were taken four times in July, four times in August and five times in September at
outfall OOIA. Outfall 007A dischazged for approximately seven days in July. Field measurements of outflow were
taken twice during this period of time. Laboratory samples were taken at outfall 001 A in July (1 sample), August (1
sample) and September (1 sample). A single laboratory sample was taken at outfall 007A in July while the pond was
discharging.
The laboratory sample taken at Outfall 007A on July 22 exceeded the allowances for Total Suspended Solids (114
mg/L) and Settleable Solids (3 mg/L/h). Results from the laboratory sample taken at Outfall 001 A on August 10,
exceeded the allowance for Total Suspended Solids (230 mg/L). Please see the attached CDPS Exceedance Reports for
more detailed information about these exceedences. Water monitoring forms for these samples are also attached. We
believe that sampling ercors were responsible for these exceedences.
Thank you for your consideration. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I can be
reached at (970)824-1532.
Sincerely, i^~/~ ~----
C.
