.~
- i.~a -
-38-
room-pillar level below and parallel to the existing workings (Exhibit 7).
'~ Room, pillar, and haulage designs and dimensions will be like those in
existence (Exhibit 10). Rooms will be 22 feet x 100 feet, pillars will be
' 8 feet, and haulages will be 10 feet in width. Plans are to mine five 22'
x 100' rooms each year, to produce the 5000 tons from the 9-foot "D" seam
(Exhibit 11). Consequently, aver the 5-year permit period the coal will be
' removed from five rooms in each of the blocks numbered 1 to 5, shown in
Exhibit 7. The existing workings will thus be extended approximately 135
' feet deeper and 750 feet to the northwest at the end of five years. The
total acreage will thus be about 2:3 acres, or 0.46 acres per year.
The existing incline entry to the mine was previously deepened to a
' level sufficient to open the proposed new level of mining. Water levels
can be maintained below this level at pumping rates of less than fifty
gallons per minute. Therefore, no additional and different operations
' necessary to open and complete the 5-year plan of mining are forseen.
2.05.3(3) Mine Facilities
Existing mine facilities are shown in Exhibit B. They include a
scales, office, tool shed, tipple, hoist house, hoist, and compressor room.
Power lines connect the different buildings, the underground workings, and
the fan south of the county road.
1 ~--At the ermination of mining in the permit area, all structures will
be removed.
