mine area. Sun Coal Company has taken all reasonable measures to ensure that
• the facilities lying north of the Yampa River do not detrimentally affect the
river or its environs. Land coverage by these facilities is less than one acre,
and Sun Coal Company has not been required to place sedimentation structures in
this area in the past.
These facilities were constructed in 1977 after obtaining approval of the
initial mining permit. The tipple is a steel-framed structure constructed on
piers similar to the conveyor system discussed earlier. Coal-loading chutes
were positioned over an upgraded constructed rail siding. All coal-handling
facilities will be sold prior to bond release.
Scales. The truck scales are located between the mine office and the
bridge crossing the Yampa River. The truck scales were constructed upon appro-
• val of a minor revision (Number O1) and were located to efficiently weigh trucks
for local spot coal sale market. The location of the office trailer was
approved by the Routt County Building Inspector.
Sanitation System. A sanitation system, approved by the Routt.County
Environmental Health Department, was also installed. The electrical substation
was installed in compliance with standards of the Yampa Valley Electric Company,
Mine Safety and Health Administration, and the Colorado Division of Mines.
Shop Structures. Sun Coal Company's shop facilities were constructed
during the summer of 1977 after receiving CMLRB approval (Permit 76-61).
Construction was performed in accordance with the Uniform Building Code,
National Electric Code, and other applicable codes adopted by Routt County.
Construction was inspected by the Routt County Building Department, and occu-
• pancy permits were obtained.
- 163 - (Rev. 5/86)
