Box 449 <br />Florence, Colorado 81226 <br />Re: Mid-Term Review of the Southfield Mine, Permit No. C-81-014 <br />Dear Mr. Weaver: <br />Enclosed is the Division's mid-term review and decision to require revisions <br />to the Southfield Mine Permit No. C-81-045. The review is in fulfillment of <br />Rules 2.08.3, 2.06.2(9), 2.06.3(4), 2.06.5(3), 2.06.7(5), and 3.02.2(4). Also <br />• enclosed are enforcement actions that the Division is taking as a result of <br />the mid-term review. <br />The mid-term review consisted of reviewing the permit application, stipulation <br />responses, revisions and any supplemental information, as well as, information <br />from field inspections an past inspection reports. The main purpose of the <br />review was to identify any areas of the permit application that will need to <br />be revised or modified to ensure compliance and reflect the current status of <br />the mine. <br />The enclosed document contains out mid-term review, a rational for requiring <br />any revisions to the application, a summary of the status of stipulations, and <br />the results of our performance bond review. <br />Revisions were found under the categories of Legal, Financial and Compliance <br />information, Subsidence, Operation Plans and hydrology and hydrologic <br />monitoring. <br />LJ <br />The Division requests that the Southfield Mine submit appropriate responses to <br />these concerns by March 15, 1987.
