• miles of the site (Bill Clark, Wildlife Biologist, Colorado Division of <br />Wildlife, Grand Junction, personal communication, July 9, 1981). <br />The Colorado squawfish, humpback chub, and the bonytail chub, listed as <br />federally endangered species, may occur in the Yampa River near the vicinity of <br />the mine. The bonytail chub is generally found in the lower section of the <br />Yampa River near Dinosaur National Monument, and the first two species are <br />generally found above the lowest reaches of the river. The humpback sucker, a <br />species of special concern in Colorado, may also be found in the Yampa River but <br />usually inhabits the lower section of the river. Other native species occurring <br />in the Yampa River include: sucker, bluehead sucker, and mottled sculpin. <br />Introduced species include: redside shiner, fathead minnow, carp, white sucker, <br />and channel catfish (Joseph, T.
