In 1996, WFC badcfilled and graded 33.45 aces. WFC topsoiled 26.91 aces and
permanently seeded 39.42 aces. This reclamation work will greatly reduce the runoff of
sediment from disturbed land to our sediment ponds. Ponds 002-006 were surveyed for
adequate sediment and water storage capadty for the 25yr - 24hr event. They demonstrated
suffident capadty. Ponds 001 and 007 are pending annual survey and subsequent
recertification till they thaw and we are able to survey to the total depth of the pond. This
should be completed by March of 1997.
V~.(=re changes made to your SIMVIP? A SUMMARY OF EACH COMPRFJiENSIVE STORMWATER FACILJTY INSPECTION
MADE...
New Horizon Mine is small enough in land area that all active areas in the perrrvt boundary
are inspected for SVMAP compliance daily, Monday -Friday. This includes ditches, culverts,
sediment ponds, diversion ditches, petroleum storage fadlities, and etc. Non-active areas,
such as established reclaimed areas awaiting reclamation bond release, are inspected
weekly, with detailed inspections monthly. Any defiderrdes noted during any of the
inspections were corrected promptly.
In the New Horizon I area, some minor maintenances work was made. Ditches were
improved from the end of a straw bale sediment fence to Pond 002 and 003. Roads were
maintained with v~2ter bars and proper ditches to aide in high runoff situations.
C. RESULTS AND INTERPRETATION OF ANY STORMWATER MONITORING..
• 2-3
