• INTRODUCTION
Sediment Pond 008 is proposed to be constructed in the Bond Creek drainage
which is tributary to Fish Creek. Pond 008 will contain runoff from areas
currently draining into Pond 007, which is scheduled to be mined through
in early 1988, in addition to runoff from areas mined in 1988 and 1989
(see Exhibit 12-1, Operations Pian). Pond 008 is designed to handle
runoff from its entire watershed. This pond is located in the SW~ of the
NW}; Sec. 7; T5N; R86W (see Exhibit 7-7).
SITE DESCRIPTION
Land Use
Sediment Pond 008 has a 247-acre watershed which is tributary to Fish
Creek. The watershed is classified as a mixture of undisturbed,
disturbed, and reclaimed areas as broken down in Table 7-6e-4.
• Embankment
The proposed embankment for Pond 008 will be a homogeneous earth fill
compacted in lifts to design specifications. The top width of the
embankment will be approximately 15 feet wide with upstream and downstream
slopes of approximately 3h:ly each. The principal spillway will be a
6-inch diameter orifice cut into a 24-inch diameter drop inlet pipe. The
emergency spillway will be the 24-inch diameter drop inlet CMP.
DESIGN ANALYSIS
General
Sediment Pond 008 was designed to meet or exceed the design and
performance requirements of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division.

7-6e-1
