The on- <br />site reconnaissance occurred during September 1978, and consisted of <br />traveling dirt roads through all the major portions of the area and <br />walking qualitative tranaecta in each major habitat found on the <br />area. Observations on wildlife species present, definitive wildlife <br />sign (scat, burrows, tracks, nests, etc.), and habitat <br />characteristics were recorded for each tranaect. In addition, <br />particular attention was focused on unique areas such as rock <br />outcrops, drainages, and cliff areas. <br />CYCC 1980 - Wildlife biologists surveyed the proposed <br />permit and adjacent areas during August 1980 using morning and <br />• evening walk Cransects and by glassing with binoculars from <br />observation points throughout the area at different times of the <br />day. Observations on wildlife species present, and definitive <br />wildlife signs (scat, burrows, tracks, Heats, etc.) were recorded <br />according to habitat type.
