Box 459
Florence, CO 81226
Re: Southfield Mine and Coal Loadout
Quarterly Sediment Pond Inspections
Dear George:
Pcak Project Management, LLC
34115 County Road 20.8
'Trinidad, Colorado 81082
(719)846-4975
On March I Q 2004 the sediment control ponds numbered 4, and 5 at Southfield, and ponds I and 2 at the
coal loadout, were inspected for structural integrity, erosion, other hvardous conditions, and to identify
required maintenance. The inspection also satisfies Rule 4.05.9 (17) of the Colorado Mined Land
Reclamation Board for Coal Mining. Former ponds number I, 2, and 3 al Southfield have been reclaimed
and the areas were not inspected.
To the best of my knowledge, based upon my field observations and investigations, as detailed in the
attached inspections reports, all referenced ponds are being maintained in conformance with prudent, stale-
of-the-art earthen embankment construction.
Sincerely,
V/~
Ronald G.
