EXHIBIT L
RECLAMATION COSTS
This reclamation cost estimate in based on the assumption
that there will be no more than 15.17 acres ± needing resoiling
and revegetation at any one time and that exterior slope were
created as mining progressed. The Bond Map following this text
shows how the mine will look at that time and is color coded to
explain the site layout. As shown mining and reclamation is
complete on the northern part of the site and only the working
face needs grading. This also assumes that the mine face is
worked at 1:1 so the cut/fill grading would require moving 60
cy/lft. All other slope grading would be completed as mining
progresses.
The following information depicts a worse case scenario when
it would be most expensive to reclaim the site. The table below
outlines the various areas of disturbance at that time. This is
an attempt to set the bond so there is flexibility to operate the
mine without reevaluating the bond yearly.
According to our scenario, we will have to respread 13,706
cubic yards of soil on 15.17 acres of stripped area; do 48,000
cubic yards of cut/fill work on working face; and revegetate
18.12 ac. ±. The amount of soil that will be re-spread is based
on an average of 6 inches. Our cost estimate to do all of the
shaping and soiling in this cost estimate is based on using a n8N
dozer for the cutlfill work, a 631B scraper for resoiling, and a
140G motor grader to prepare the seed bed after resoiling is
complete. The actual equipment used by the permittee may differ.
These figures are then used in the calculations for the bond
amount. The revegetation cost figure includes grass seed, mulch,
chemical fertilizer (ammonium nitrate & superphosphate) and seed
drilling costs. The mobilization number is for a round trip from
the Granby area (2 miles one way.)
Area
(UNITS AC., LFT)
RECLAMATION ACTIVITY Flat Slopes TOTALS
REBOIL (ac.) 12.92 2.25 15.17
REVEGETATE (ac.) 12.92 5.20 18.12
SLOPE BACKFILLING (Ift.) 0 800 800
RECLAMAT{ON COMPLETE (ac.) 0.00 9.89 9.69
UNDISTURBED (ac.) 10.84 10.84
29
