Revised 9/16/82
C ~
J
removal and stockpiling. Plates 7,8, and 9 show the pit :and
dumps at the end of stages 1,2, and 3. The upper seam will be
mined along with the up-faulted part of the lower seam at the
northeast corner of the deposit. Mining will start at the upper
end of the deposit and proceed northwest to the property
boundary. Overburden will be placed on the East Dump in the
mining area. Topsoil will be removed before mining using
scrapers guided by stakes outlining areas shown in Plate 15.
Reclamation of the eastern part of Stage 1 will occur at the end
of mining of Stage 1.
Stages 4-5. Reference should be made to Table 4 and to Plate
10. A V-shaped pit will be made to remove the lower seam along
the steep, southwest limb of the syncline. During this and
essentially all of the rest of the lower seam mining, a bony zone
3 to 5 feet thick and about 5 feet above the base of the seam
will be selectively removed and put with the overburden.
1
D-3(a)
