~~~~~VE~ ~ ~r
sEP i s ~ssz
MINED LAND RECLAMATION Revised 9/16/82
Co!o. Dept. of t\~atural Reso~~rce~
will be used for watering down the roads in general. Further
discussign of water handling is given below.
Stockpiles. Topsoil will be removed (as shown in Plate 15)
totaling some 232,910 bank yards, and stockpiled in stockpiles A,
B, and C as shown in the mining plan maps, away from traffic, out
of danger of flash floods and marked with signs, "Topsoil, Please
$tay Off".
_ ___ ,,.. Stockpile B will be protected from
drainage from other stockpiles by contouring its perimeter to
provide a drainage away from the pile. Some weathered coal has
been stockpiled with the hope of selling it. If no market
develops, it will be buried in the pit after Stage 1. However,
all weathered coal encountered in the future will be mixed with
overburden located in the same vicinity. This material will then
be handled in the same manner as all other overburden.
_ Safety Zones. Twenty foot wide safety zones will be
• maintained around the Bourg property as the Bureau of Land
Management requested that the pit and stockpiles, sedimentation
ponds, and buildings not come to the edge of the property. The
safety zone provides space for detouring parts of the ranch
roads, power lines, and the telephone line, which was
incidentally acceptable to the BLM, as based on verbal
discussions. At the outer edge of the safety zone is a three-
strand wire fence with steel posts. Well-constructed cattle
guards interrupt this perimeter fence at the inner edge of the
safety zone.
Location and Removal of Mine Facilities. Plate 15 shows
where the ranch roads, power lines, and telephone line have been
re-routed. A11 of these will remain in their present position.
The perimeter fence and cattle guards will also be left. The
pipeline traversing the property has been relocated on BLM land
outside the permit area and will remain in that location after
D-2
~. i ~_ .~-- - -......__ _ .~.... r~
