/~ ~c~-io~ p- MINING PLAN
General./ At the request of the staff of the Colorado Mined
Land Reclamation Board, the mining plan is illustrated in stages.
Coal production for each stage was assumed to be 150,000 tons.
Based on existing sales contracts, yearly production is estimated
at slightly less than 100,000 tons; each stage is expected to
last approximately 1~ years. Therefore, while the sequence shown
in Plate 5 and 6 will be followed, the timing is approximate rather
than exact. Since this permit is for a 5-year period, detailed
data for stages 1 through 4 are included.
It is planned to mine the coal in an open pit. The equipment
will be approximately:
2-6 Scrapers
2-4 Bulldozers
1-2 Front-end loaders
2-8 Rear-dump, highway coal trucks
1 Grader
1 Water truck
-I ~. -
3-6 Pickups
1 Portable coal crusher (feeders,
conveyors, surge bin)
1 Field conveyor
Facilities. The office shown on the mining plan maps is a
trailer. The shop shown in these maps will have two or three bays
capable of handling large scrapers and trucks for repair and mainten-
ance. This building will include a rest room with adequate toilet and
shower facilities. Spare parts and supplies will be stored in the
shop. First aid supplies will be complete and enough of the personnel
will be trained in first aid to arovide treatment at any time during
the working hours.
Pit and Dump Design. The mining plan is designed for maximum
recovery of the two seams ~~~. Bed-
rock pit walls are kept at or below 45 degrees (1:1).
w ees~ ~;.~ Haul roads within the property
will be kept below 10 percent grades and will be watered to adequately
suppress dust. They will be graveled as necessary locally to
maintain a firm road. Culverts, shown on Plate 13 will be used
where needed on the more permanent haul roads. Water that
collects in the pit or water from the water well drilled on site
