• FntnrP Rnrfare Disturbance for Refuse DiSDOSal~ <br />All of the additional 17.6 acres to be disturbed for the refuse facility <br />is on the north side of the existing bench area. The area consists of the <br />sparse pinon and juniper forest on steep slopes which often exceeds 70%. <br />As stated in the approved permit, this land has been classified as "Highland <br />Agriculture" by the Las Animas County Zoning Office, and is generally used <br />for grazing on a minor .basis. <br />In the additional disturbed area, the resources of topsoil and vegetation <br />will be affected. <br />• To soil - Soil samples and analysis were completed for the entire <br />17.6acrearea. Results of the samples, description of the soils <br />and analysis data are included in 2.04.9 Soils Resource Information. <br />The plan for topsoil removal and storage is given in 2.05.2(5) Topsoil. <br />Vegetation - N.U.S. Corporation is required to complete the baseline <br />info nnation in the summer of 1983 and submit a revegetation plan for <br />all disturbed areas. The 17.6 acres of additional disturbed area will <br />be included in this work. <br /> <br />37 <br />
