Box 449 <br />Florence, Colorado 81226 <br />Dear Art, <br />Pursuant to our meeting with you on April 10, 1986, the City of Florence has re- <br />searched the land use status of its property adjacent to the Southfield Mine. This <br />property has recently been leased to Energy Fuels Coal, Inc. for mining the available <br />coal reserves in the Jack O'Lantern seam. We have determined that there is not <br />a recorded public park or recreation area within the boundaries of the property. <br />There exists public access to the property on County Road 15 which also serves as <br />access to the City water line diversion point in the west end of the property. <br />• We have reviewed the mining plans within the lease area and understand the potential <br />subsidence related to the mining process. If, in the near future, the City of <br />Florence intends to establish a park on the property, such park will be located <br />well away from any possible surface disturbance due to mining. <br />We appreciate the time you have given to explain the mining process proposed for <br />the City of Florence Lease.
