• i
EAGLE COUNTY SPECIAL USE APPLICATION - SUPPLEPlTNTAL DAT:1 p;i};e 3
Jobs may be created for 2 to 5 people which should be filled
from within the existing community work force. This should in
some small way help the economy of Eagle County, especially
the north-west corner of the county.
3. The existing county road (5-51) traver::es the development site.
The developers anticipate road improvements will be required
to sections of the road. We intend to meet with the county
personnel responsible and work out standards of these improve-
ments and equitable cost sharing. Further, additional. road
maintenance costs incurred by the county due to this operation
will be equitably shared by the operators.
4. There are no known active water co w-ses on the mining site.
Spring thaw and storm run-off are the only water resources
existant on the site. The mining operation should have no
adverse effects on either of these. Sedimentation >;tructures
will be provided to establish drainage patterns and quality
consistent with historical flows. Traps will be provided where-
ever fuel or other potential contaminants are stored or used
in order to prevent unauthorized, accidental or unnecessary
discharges. No surface or underground water quality deteriora-
tion or degradation should occur from this mining operation.
Wastewater discharges will not be a part of this mining operation.
Sanitary wastes will be generated into portable saniCary facilities
~•~ith timely service by the local supplier/servicer organization.
As previously stated, sedime~ltation structures will be created as
necessary to maintain run-off or discharge in quanit'•/ and quality
equivalent or better than historical flows. Any potable water
requirement will be met with carried water and not developed on
site. Processing water requirements (pr.incipally dust control)
is also expected to be provided by haul and not developed on site.
5. This development should not require any significant infrastructure
changes. Road improvements and maintenance costs will be shared
equitably with the county and improvements required due to this
operation will be constructed at the developers expence. No
impacts should be noted by schools, health facilities, fire or
police services, recreation or housing. Pdo identifiable popula-
tion increase can be expected to be produced by the proposed
mining for raw gypsum sales. Utility requirements of this operation
may require extension of power to the site across public land.
This will be done at the developers expence and no impact will
be visited upon the surrounding community.
R. A. MINING COMPANY
