Bo^ 9B0 <br />Carpontlate, Coloratlo Bt623 <br />13031SKt3~3440 <br />Suite 2300 <br />410 $evenleenth Street <br />Denver, Cotoratlo 80202 <br />(3031 62St9fi6 <br />Re: Snowmass Coal Company, North Thompson Creek Mine <br />Site, Technical Revision, Permit No. J7-313 <br />Dear Mr. Liddle: <br />Snowmass Coal Company hereby requests a Technical Revision to Permit No. <br />77-313 to allow the construction of a Refuse Disposal Site Access Road <br />in accordance with Section 4.03.2 of the Regulations of the Colorado <br />Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal Mining. <br />General Descriotion <br />The proposed refuse site access road will be located on a ridge and <br />along a stable slope between the eastern edge of the timber storage <br />yard and the western side of the refuse disposal site. Horizontal <br />alignment will follow, wherever possible, the natural topography to <br />minimize environmental disturbance. No part of the road will be located <br />in the channel of an intermittent or perennial stream. <br />access road. Work on the road was halted in March of 1979 when it was <br />found that proper authorization had not been granted to construct the <br />road. This resulted in the issuance of a cease and desist order and a no- <br />tice of violation dated April 5. 1979. This violation was abated by <br />removing all road fill material from the road course and regrading the area <br />to approximate original contour. <br />from the eastern edge of the timber storage yard the proposed road will <br />follow the course of a previously constructed road. This existing road <br />course was constructed in early 1979 and was intended to be a refuse site <br />Topsoil was not distributed over the regraded area because it was antici- <br />pated that the road would be reconstructed when proper authorization had <br />been obtained., The regraded area has remained stable to the present time. <br /> <br />
