•
COLORADO YAMPA COAL COMPANY
CERTIFICATION INSPECTION FOR DRAINAGES
DATE OF INSPECTION August 17, 1988
INSPECTION ACTIVITIES
o Checked bedding and riprap placement for 225 foot intermediate
channel section.
o Photographed material placement.
FINDINGS
o The bedding and riprap placement for the intermediate channel
section generally looked good with adequate thicknesses, and
uniform placement.
o The gradient problem on channel sideslopes noted during the.
last inspection has been addressed and sideslopes for both the'
upper and intermediate sections look good.
o Three problem areas were noted as follows;
1) A 30 foot section of channel bottom has a significant
amount of bedding exposed with limited riprap.
2) A 20 foot section of channel bottom has a high fines
percentage on the surface. This makes it difficult to
assess gradation and competency of underlying matrix.
3) A 20 foot section of channel bottom has a large number of
oversize rocks.
