COLORADO YAMPA COAL COMPANY
CERTIFICATION INSPECTION FOR DRAINAGES
DATE OF INSPECTION July 15, 1988
INSPECTION ACTIVITIES
o Checked grade and channel dimensions for Drainages 31-1 and
31-2
FINDINGS
o The channel of Drainage 31-1 was visually inspected for
uniformity of grade. One 50' section which appeared to be
over-steepened was checked. Grade for this section was 16.5
compared with the design of 15.3%. The Engineer indicated
that additional grading would be required to achieve the
design gradient. The channel will be rechecked upon
completion of reoradino.
The channel appeared to have a uniform cross-section. A spot
measurement indicated a channel bottom width of 13' and top
width of 33' compared to design widths of 12' and 27'
respectively (Design widths are minimum values. A greater
channel cross-section is acceptable).
o The channel of Drainage 31-2 was visually. inspected for
uniformity of grade. Grade was checked over a 50' section of
what appeared to be the steepest section. Grade for the
section checked was 24.3 compared with the design of 21.6%.
The Engineer indicated that additional grading would be
required to achieve the design gradient. The channel will be
rechecked u~onsompletion of regrading.
