<br />u <br />COLORADO YAMPA COAL COMPANY <br />CERTIFICATION INSPECTION FOR DRAINAGES <br />DATE OF INSPECTION September 1, 1988 <br />INSPECTION ACTIVITIES <br />o Checked final configuration and bedding/riprap placement for <br />Drainage 41 <br />o Checked bedding and riprap placement for Drainage 31-2 and <br />additional 100' section of 31-1 <br />o Checked bedding and riprap placement for Drainage 7 <br />o Stopped at Drainage 51. Earthwork had started the previous <br />day <br />o Photographed final configuration and bedding/riprap placement <br />for Drainages 7, 31-2, and 41 <br />FINDINGS <br />o The final configuration of Drainage 41 looks good and is <br />considered acceptable relative to conformance with design. <br />Bedding and riprap placement look good with adequate <br />thickness, uniform placement and good gradation. The problems <br />noted in the 8/15 and 8/17 reports have been effectively <br />addressed with regrading and additional riprap placement. <br />o Bedding and riprap placement have been completed for Drainage <br />31-2. Placement thickness appears to be adequate, however, <br />poor gradation with excessive large material and lack of <br />adequate channel definition were noted as problems. <br />
