Mr.
Stevens further stated that the placement of
the remaining two wells is to be made by
Greystone during the installation. The
objecrive of these two wells is to determine
groundwater flow direction and gradient.
Condition 3: The County will secure and
supply accurate elevations of the ground
surface at the proposed four well locations.
(Elevations of the tops of the surface casing
for the four monitoring wells aze also
acceptable.) The method of the
determination of elevation and the values
secured will be provided to the Division
within 14 days after the completion of the
drilling program.
Work Plan: All wells will be surveyed for
accurate ground surface and top of casing
elevations. The north side of each well
casing will be used when surveying the
wells. Depth to water will be measured
from the top, north side of the well casing.
Groundwater elevations will be calculated
using the measured groundwater elevation
data and the surveyed well casing elevations.
Greystone will provide the values secured to
the Division within 14 days after the
completion of the drilling program.
Condition 4: The County will employ a
competent, experienced, licensed and/or
certified drilling contractor to drill and
complete the four monitor wells. Evidence
of the contractor's licenses and/or
certifications will be provided to the
Division by February 16, 1996.
Work Plan: Lincoln DeVore, Inc.,
Colorado Springs, Colorado, will provide
drilling services for this project. Lincoln
DeVore has been providing these services
since 1978. 'T'hey will use a CME-55 drill
rig for this project. Lincoln DeVore is
experienced in the areas of geotechnical
drilling and piezometer, recovery and
monitoring well installation. Their
contractor's license and/or certifications will
be submitted to the Division by February 16,
1996.
Condition 5: The County, with assistance
from its drilling contractor, will provide the
details of how the proposed monitoring wells
will be drilled, cased, completed, logged,
tested and protected from surface
contamination. These details will be
provided to the Division by February 16,
1996.
Work Plan: Prior to drilling, the Colorado
Office of the State Engineer, Division of
Water Resources, will be contacted to obtain
a drilling permit. In addition, a utility locate
will be performed. -
All monitor wells will be installed using a
truck-mounted drill rig utilizing an 8-inch
outside diameter (OD) continuous flight
auger. During the drilling of the four
boreholes, soils will be monitored for the
presence of volatile organic vapors using a
Thermo Environmental Instruments Model
580B organic vapor monitor (OVM) photo-
ionization detection meter (PID) calibrated to
an isobutylene standazd. Soil sampling
depths, PID readings, and lithologic
descriptions for the boreholes will be
included on the lithologic and well
completion logs.
Cosul la\ I ~96
2-2
