' u~~a so.~ r~ turn • c.a s~j r+~t
' All data collection Wn11 take place in leve] D conditions. An OVM reading will be taken in
the breathing zone above the well to be sampled to determine if a higher level of personal
protection is necessary. If OVM readings exceed 200 ppm a half-face respirator will be
' required
' Liquid Level Measuremerrt
Prior to sampling, liquid level mcasurements shall be obtained by use of the foIlowing
' procedures:
' L Locate aIl wells to be sampled.
2 Place proper barricades ar warning devices at webs to be sampled.
' 3. Open manhole covers at each well and evaluate condition of wellhead, note
on sampling and/or monitoring form(s).
' 4. Remove any ponded water from ituide the manhole.
' S. Remove well cap, place cap so that inside surface is not in contact with
possible sources of contamination.
' 6. Allow well to equilibrate to atmospheric pressure for at least 15 minutes.
7. Place decontaminated water level probe inside well to obtain measurement
All measurements should be from top of casing from a notch placed on the
north side of each well.
' 8 Measure and record depth to liquid. ffphare-separated constituents are
stupected, a decontaminated interface baIIer wr71 be lowered into the weIl to
' obtain a thiclmess of the phase-separated constituenu Record the thiclmess
measurement of the phase-separated constituent
' 9. Calculate static water level, height of water column and gallons of liquid within
the well casing. Record oa the appropriate forms.
1

1
