i <br />~r~• <br />7 <br />• • <br /> <br />RECLAMATION PLAN <br />Shaping of the new channel will follow mining as closely <br />as practicable to still leave room for trucks, loaders, etc. <br />The mining plan leaves about 25 feet on each side of the pit <br />for material to be dozed into the edges of the new channel for <br />a two to one slope (the same as the present channel). <br />The floor of the excavation will not be glowed or dis- <br />turbed - preferred to be left packed as hard as possible to <br />retard washing during floods. <br />No sand will be disturbed for reseeding more than an <br />inch or two deep to establish some grass and rabbit brush. <br />Reseeding will have to be done between the 5th of July and <br />August 15th to take advantage of seasonal rains. <br />Some ground cover of hay or straw must be spread on the <br />ground to preserve moisture. <br />You will note that reseeding may have to be done up to 5 <br />times due to the lack of rain or moisture holding soil. <br />(IISDA estimates) <br />Gramma grass (blue) now sells for 86.60 per pound and <br />about three pounds per acre is appropriate. <br />The only other plant on the ground is rabbit weed and it <br />will be seeded by collecting whole plants after seed maturity <br />and dragging them through the area. <br />COST OF RECLAMATION <br />Shaping new channel - 10 hrs.
