for limited impact and select regular mine applications
The following information pertaining to wildlife is provided for use by Tfined Iand
Reclamation Board in their consideration of a mining permit for:
Name/Type and Location of Mine (Legal
Wildlife Species list:
Rainbow, brown, and brook trout; ducks, beaver, red fox, swainsons
hawk, northern harrier, and rough-legged hawk.
Endangered/critical species/impacted:
None known
Critical habitats/vegetative. communities impacted: Northern property boundary
parallels Middle Fork of South Platte. Property also includes several fresh
water fishing ponds, plus a portion of the Ididdle Fork of the South Platte.
Riparian - Primarily willow and cinquefoil.
Ranl1geland - Primarily fescue and wheatgrass. Light mixture of care x, blue
~rASSesstmeihoi mpdc~'ringe sage.
Operation should have minimal impact on wildlife. Special precautions,
however, need to be taken to prevent run off - siltation in the Middle
Fork of the South Platte. '
Mine Reclamation recommendations (include key species/habitats for which restoration
is designed).
The recycled ground water and settling pond used for dust control in
the operation should be atleast 100 yds. from the Middle Fork of the
South Platte. At the com~>letion of the operation, willow shoots
should be planted in disturbed pond areas.
