Above the 3 design considerations mentioned of G-2, a vegetated berm and
slopes around the Swale will also reduce erosion. Soil characteristics
also help reduce erosion (Exhibit I) potential. A sediment control berm
will be provided (sheet 2 of 3) if deemed necessary. The berm would be
placed at the lowest point in the excavation and sized according to a 100
year, 24 hour event. Based on the nature of the materials on site, it
is not expected that a structure of this nature would ever be needed.
Exhibit H
1. However, information provided in Exhibit G, I, and K suggest none
will be needed. This information is related to a) soil hydrologic group,
b) soil types, c) runoff potential, d) soil compactability, e) water erosion
hazards or short slopes.
Exhibit L
1. Reclamation costs were based on a maximum of ten acres of disturbance at
any one time. As shown on the mining plan map in year 1 about 8.3 acres
will be disturbed including haul roads, plant site and mining. In subse-
quent years about 5 additional acres will be disturbed each year with reclama-
tion occurring on about 75°d of the totally disturbed area (8.3 + 5 = 13.3 Ac
x .75 = 9.98 acres). Admittedly, some years the reclaimed areas will be less
than 10. This does not imply that at any one time only about 10 acres will be
disturbed. To further clarify, on year 1, 8.3 acres will be disturbed. In
year 2 about 5 acres will be disturbed with about 5 acres from year 1 being
reclaimed by placing the topsoil from the second years mining activity over
