Most are introduced; these <br />include alyssum (Alyssum minus), redroot pigweed (Amaranthus retroflexus), littlepod falseflax <br />(Camelina microcaroa), musk thistle, diffuse knapweed (Centaurea diffusa), purple mustard <br />(Chori!,~ora tenella), pinnate tansymustard (Descurainia Dinnata), flixweed tansymustard <br />(Descurainia Sophia), filaree (Erodium cicutarium), common sunflower (Helianthus annuus), <br />summercypress fKochia iranica), stickseed (Laooula redowskii), false salsify (Podo~yermum <br />laciniatum), Russian-thistle (Salsola iberica), Jim Hill mustard (Sisvmbrium altisissimum), salsify <br />(Traeopoeon dubius), and bracted verbena (Verbena bracteata). Native annual and biennial forts <br />• present include thyme-leaf spurge (Chamaesvice ~rovllifolia), gray goosefoot (Cheno ium <br />in m ,yellow-center thistle (Cirsium ochrocentrom), wavy-leaf thistle (Cirsium undulatum), <br />hare's ear (Conrin~ia orientalis), Carolina draba (Draba reotans), Ellisia (Ellisia nyctelea), <br />snow-on-the-mountain (Euohorbia mareinata), plains sunflower (Helianthus petiolaris), Virginia <br />pepperweed LLeDidium vireinicum), dragonhead (Moldavica narvifloral, and black nightshade <br />(Solanum americanum). <br />Other Ve~gtation Types of the Permit Area <br /> <br />Ponderosa Pine Woodland <br />This mapping unit is dominated by ponderosa pine (Pious ponderosa) which provides from about <br />30 to 100 percent canopy cover. The understory is variously comprised of native grasses and <br />shrubs. The mapping unit grades into Mountain Mahogany Shrobland, and, thus may have <br />extensive dense mountain mahogany (Cercocarous montanus) shrub understory. <br />C~ <br />
