.~
tdr. Gilbert F, Rindahl -5- November 4, 1983
2. How will the ponds and drainage way to the east of the permit area
be protected from sedimentation during mining and reclamation?
Exhibit L
1. Since 20 acres of the permit area have already been stripped of
topsoil, costs for replacing 10 acre feet of topsoil (or 16,133 cubic
yards} should be included. At your rate of $0.80/c u. yd., this amounts
' to $12,906.40.
2. What does the 40 hours of scraper time at $60.00/h r. represent in
,p Sterms of reclamation? It must, at least, represent final grading for the
~`° pd~maximum disturbed area. Again, this would be 20 acres or more from what
~,,~, you have already said. This figure should be clarified.
3. Revegetation costs should include seed costs, fertilizer costs
(estimated), mulch costs( at probably 4,000 lbs./acre) and equipment and
labor costs to do the re vegetation work. These costs should cover the
Z maximum area requiring re vegetation.
~~,~ ~~ 4. In general, your costs should be inclusive for the maximum area
requiring the reclamation activities given. Furthermore, activities
should be described in sufficient detail to enable the reader to evaluate
i~fas~' wilihbe accomplishedyinealworst casetsituationas Givennthe~foregobng E)
w analysis, your costs of $10,500.00 appear too low.
Exhibit M
J 1. To date, no confirmation of local zoning has been received by our
office. This must be received before the Board can consider the
application.
Exhibit N
1. Presumably, a fugitive dust permit will be required for this
operation. Please clarify the status of this permit.
Exhibit 0
1. Please provide the original notarized affidavit proving legal
right-to-enter.
I have tried to be as comprehensive as possible in my review so as to
minimize our necessary correspondence. Please call if you have any
questions concerning this letter.
S/i~n~c~erely,
" I f 1G„~',
Mark S. Loye
Senior Reclamation Specialist
MSL/tlh
Doc.
