Syracuse Way
Suite 217
Denver, Colorado 80231
Re: R.E. Monks Plant No. 1
File No. 83-193
~i-;
Dear ~-r-R~iada#~
I have completed my adequacy review of the 112 permit application for the
above captioned operation. I have several questions and comments about
this application that I have organized on an exhibit-by-exhibit basis
below. As you know, this matter is scheduled for the December 14-15,
1983 meeting of the Mined Land Reclamation Board. Therefore, please
respond to this letter by no later than December 5, 1983, such that I
will have time to review your responses and get back to you (as
necessary) before the scheduled Board meeting.
I have asked a rather large number of questions concerning this
application. However, in general, these questions are points of
clarification and should be able to be answered fairly easily. In some
cases, I have asked for further information (such as concerning
vegetation). You may already have much of this information on hand. As
always, if you have any questions concerning my comments, please call me.
four Division must receive proof of the four sequential weeks of
publication and proof of notification to adjacent landowners. These
proofs should be provided in the usual way and must be received in our
office before the Board can approve the application.
Please provide a discussion of the significance of the fact that this
2 operation was formerly apart of a larger Pioneer Sand Co. operation
(parts of which are still immediately adjacent to the proposed permit
area on the north and east sides). Specifically, how will the mining
plan and, more significantly, the reclamation plan interact with the
plans for Pioneer Sand Company's operation?
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
