CERTIFICATION OF CONSTRUCTION
SEWAGE PONDS
The three sewage ponds were installed in 1975 when Anschiitz
Corporation was operating these mines. The first pond is an
aeration pond, the second a "polishing" pond, and the third is
a chlorinating pond. No design information was available on site
when inspection for this certification was done. The location of
these ponds is shown on map D-4-8 in the Snowmass Coal Company
Permit No. C-025-81.
The installation of these ponds was primarily done by ex-
cavation below ground level. The banks to these ponds is between
2h:ly and lh:ly and the depth is approximately 8'. History and
personal observations of these ponds indicates no problem. Vegeta-
tive cover around these ponds is good.
Information considered in the certification of these ponds
is their history and personal observations. The the best of my
knowledge and understanding, these ponds have been installed
according to sound engineering principles and that they meet the
requirements of the Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Rec-
lamation Board for Coal Mines, 1980.
_. /J I __
Larry M.
