Site Descrition (cont'd) Exhibit B
Vegetation Information
The general soils description indicates that the potential Plant Community on the Happle Soil
is mainly Indian ricegrass, western wheatgrass, bottlebrush squirreltail, shadscale saltbush, and
Wyoming big sagebrush. The predominant species present are sage brush and the grasses listed
above.
The soil survey claims that seeding is not practical in areas of this unit because of the
stoniness and the slope. Aside from the discouragement an attempt will be made to seed the site.
1. Current ground coverage is: 5 - 15%
2. Topsoil depth on site averages: 0 - 5 inches
3. Seeding dates recommended: October 15 to April 31
4. It is available through Nilex Environmental
out of Denver Colorado. It is recommended by the NRCS because of its proven success in soils
' similar to the vicinity of the mine. The seed will be broadcast and then covered with straw
mulch.
Permanent Man-Made Structures
There are no permanent man made structures within the vicinity of this proposed construction
materials mine. The county road supplies access to the mine, There are no above or below
' ground communication lines, fences, bridges, wells, pipelines, water storage impoundments,
railroad tracks, cemeteries or communication antennas within 200 feet of the affected lands.
Water Resources
There are no water structures on the site. The closest stream, Clear Creek is approximately 150
' feet to the west of the mine. The stream is approximately 20 feet lower than mining level.
Mining will not reach the ground water table so there will not be any exposed water in the mine.
Surface or subsurface water will not be impacted by this mining operation. This mine will not
~ affect the hydrologic balance ofthe surface or subsurface waterin the area.
NORTH CLEAR CREEK CONSTRUCTION MATFxrnr c MINE COROILCERAN COQIPLL4NCE $EAVICES, INC
E05~74 PAGESOF 21 GAAND]UNCTION,COLORADD
