Hisrrny Well 21~
• • .The Uinta Formation well casing was constructed with a string of 2.0-inch-
OD, 0.96 Ib/ft, Schedule 80 flush joint casing in nominal 20-ft lengths from
surface to 480 ft.
• The annular interval above the lower Uinta Formation well, from 25 to
462ft, was sealed with 120 sacks of Baroid Aquaguard grout. The grout
was placed via tremie pipe in one continuous vertical lift.
• The 0 to 25 ft annular interval was sealed with bentonite hole plug
1°1 Phase Well Development , _ _ _ y.
Developed well by air-lifting and bailer. Removed the following volumes
prior to the first sample:
21-3U 783 gallons
21-3A 975 gallons
21-3B 1,023 gallons
21-3D 13,360 gallons
2nd Development~Phase .
• Three completions on the 21-3 location were further developed prior to
sample collection in August:
21-3U 4,687 gallons
21-3A 26,036 gallons
21-3B 10,733 gallons
3`d Development Phase
One completion on the 21-3 location was further developed prior to
• sample collection in September:
21-3U 2,400 gallons
Sampling
• July 21 and July 22, 1999 water quality samples were collected from all 4
completions using a stainless steel bailer. A duplicate was taken from the
Uinta completion.
• August 24, August 29, and August 31, 1999 water quality samples were
collected from all completions using dedicated gas displacement pumps.
• September 24 and September 29, 1999 water quality samples were
collected from all completions using dedicated gas displacement pumps.
October 22, 1999 water quality samples were collected from all
completions using dedicated gas displacement pumps.
Notes
The Dissolution Surface Well completion at location 21-3D is completed
in a zone that is lower in concentration of dissolved solids than each of
the other dissolution surface wells monitored in this program. As a
result, precipitation of bicarbonate in the sample return line for this
Dissolution Surface Well has not yet been a complicating factor in the
ground water monitoring program.
L~
