sediment pond areas, the Hawken Pit dragline haulroad area and a former topsoil stockpile
location in Flintlock pit.
1.2.5 Cultural Practices
In addition to 2003 replaced topsoil revegetation practices, Trapper also conducted several
other cultural practices. These practices are addressed below.
Mature Shrub Transplant Clumps
In 2003, Trapper did not construct any new mature shrub clumps because of an early
November snow storm that precluded planned construction. Anew shrub clump is planned for
construction in the fall of 2004 in Flintlock Pit.
Drainage Reconstruction
Refer to Section 3.0 of this annual report.
Contour Ditch Construction
During 2003, Trapper constructed contour ditches in new reclaimed areas of Derringer and
Flintlock pits (Map 1).
Stock Tank Construction
No new Stock Tanks were constructed during the 2003 field season. Refer to Section 6.
Stock Tank Reclamation
No Stock Tanks were reclaimed during the 2003 field season. Refer to Section 6.
Develoomenta! Drill Sites
No developmental drill sites were disturbed during 2003 that require reclamation. All 2003
development drill sites will be included within pit advance disturbance by the end of 2004.
Topsoil Piles
Refer to Section 5. Topsoil stockpiles were sloped and seeded to the approved 2003
perennial topsoil pile mix. Approximately 10.6 acres were treated.
Sediment Dams
During 2003, no new sediment ponds were constructed. No Name #2 and #4 and East Flume
sediment ponds were cleaned. East Pyeatt #1 embankment was raised approximately one
foot and the upsiope embankment of East Pyeatt #3 was lined with rock. All embankment
disturbance areas were broadcast-seeded with the approved seed mix.
NPDES Sites 003, 006 and 010 were removed from monitoring requirements due to Phase II
and III bond release. East Buaard #1 and #2 and West Buaard #1 and #2 ponds were
reclaimed. West Buuard #3 and Elk #1 ponds will remain as permanent structures in
accordance with TR-92.
