i 1
' 3.3 VENTING THE DISPOSAL AREA
' The disposal area will be vented by two vent lines. They will be
drilled from the remote end of each of the upper and lower entries
' of the disposal area to the surface, prior to the initiation of
hydraulic mining. The vents will be cased through the oxidized
' zone of the Wheeler seam with inert 4 inch casing (Schedule 80 PVC
or Sclair pipe), the casing will be grouted in place. The vents
' will be provided with an approved non-return valve at the surface,
to prevent air ingress. The surface exit of these vent lines will
' be locked and security fenced, to prevent tampering or accidental
access.
3.4 CLOSURE
' When the disposal area is filled with disposed material, the
' closure of the facility will be as follows:
' 1. The pipes will be cut at the point where they enter the
bulkheads, and plugged by the emplacement of neat cement grout
along their entire length, to the extent practicable.
2. A mechanical plug will be emplaced in the accessible end of
' the pipes to complete the seal.
' 3. The vent pipes will be sealed by placing a mechanical plug at
the lower end of the pipes, and then grouting to surface with
neat cement grout. Surface construction will be removed, and
the (small) disturbed area returned to its original condition.

Adrian HroMn Consultants -17- 1145/900820
