MINING PLAN (cont) EXHIBIT D
' part of the alluvium varies from one to six feet in thickness and
' is a clayey to pebbly silt. Underlying this silt is zero to six
feet of gravel that is cemented with calcium carbonate. In the
adjacent Church Pit this alluvium varies in depth from 15 to 30
' feet, the USGS notes that it can be as thick as 50 feet or more.
SOILS AND OVERBURDEN
' it should be noted that the SCS text estimates a uniform 18
inches of soil that it describes as a grayish brown-brown cobbly,
' sandy loam in which the cobbles range from 50 to 75 percent by
volume. There are three soil map units on or adjacent to the
' mining site (see Exhibit I/J).
MINING TIMETABLE
Thecontinuing uncertainty of economic conditions in theconstruc-
' tion industry precludes an accurate forecast of demand during the
life of the mine. Therefore, the operator has elected to estimate
' a mining timetable based on an average year and expects a specific
year to vary widely from the average.
' The following timetable indicates the total area in each stage.
'
ESTIMATED !LINING TIMETABLE
Mining Acres + Undist.
