• Livestock Tanks
Trapper built 17 new livestock tanks in 1989. See Section 6 and Maps 6.1.
Stock tanks were seeded using the approved dam and/or spillway seed mixes on
approximately 13 acres.
Developmental Drill Sites
During 1989, Trapper broadcast seeded about 50 acres of developmental drill
sites using the approved seed mix. The specifics and locations were presented in
F. Beckett's 1989 Developmental Drilling summary submitted for your approval
on December 20, 1989.
Topsoil Piles
See Section 5 and maps 5.1. Topsoil stockpiles were smoothed and seeded to
the approved 1989 perennial topsoil pile mix. Approximately 29 acres were
treated.
Sediment Dams
Trapper inter-seeded 2 dams in the Johnson Gulch drainage as previous seeding
response was fair-poor. The areas were drill and broadcast seeded with the
approved dam seed mix.
Office Complex
Trapper seeded approximately 1.0 acres of Range site C mix around the new
office and parking lot addition.
Historical State Agricultural Holdings
As mining operations progress across our coal leases, Trapper affects former
state agricultural leases. Since 1976, Trapper has permitted the agricultural
lessee to continue farming practices but with the stipulation that Trapper with-
draw acres from crop production when mining advance dictates. Areas outside
mining prestrip operations are left in historical crop rest-rotation practices until
Trapper's activities make it impracticable. Trapper then withdraws fields from
small grain production and seeds those areas with the approved haycrop mix in
order to reduce erosion potential and manage these areas until they revert to
historical use after bond release. --
1.2.6 Previously Revegetated Acres
The locations and acres for all previously revegetated areas, seeded to perennial
• species, are presented in map(s) 1.0. To date, Trapper has revegetated
approximately 1,360 acres within the boundaries of active mining and revege-
tated an additional 95 acres within the permit boundary but outside topsoil
stripping limits.
