1.2.5 Cultural Practices
In addition to 2004 replaced topsoil revegetation practices, Trapper also cenduded several
other cultural practices. These practices are addressed below.
Mature Shrub Transplant Clumps
In 2004, Trapper did not complete construction on any new mature shrub clumps because of
wet October and November weather that preluded planned censtroction. At least one new
shrub Gump is planned for construction in the fall of 2004 in Flintlock Pit.
Drainage Reconstruction
Refer to Section 3.0 of this annual report.
Contour Ditch Construction
During 2004, Trapper censtnided contour ditches in new relaimed areas of Flintlock pit
(Map 1).
Stock Tank Construction
No new Stock Tanks were constructed during the 2004 field season. However, several
former dozer basins in Dertinger Pit were converted to stock tanks when relamation was
completed in the areas surrounding these ponds. Refer to Section 6.
Stock Tank Reclamation
No Stock Tanks were reclaimed during the 2004 field season. Refer to Section 6.
Developmental DriII Sites
Under cunent plans, no developmental drill sites were disturl~d during 2004 that require
reclamation. All 2004 development drill sites will be included within pit advance disturbance
by the end of 2006. If the mine plan is revised to not disturb some areas along the eastern
boundary of the mine plan area, some drill sites could be relaimed during the 2005 field
season.
Topsoil Piles
Refer to Section 5. Topsoil stockpiles were sloped and seeded to the approved 2004
perennial topsoil pile mix. Approximately 12.3 acres were treated.
Sediment Dams
During 2004, West Horse Gulch sediment pond was constructed. Middle Flume #3 sediment
pond was leaned. All pond disturbance areas were broadcast-seeded with the approved
seed mix.
